Catholic Wedding Program Wording

Catholic weddings are filled with old traditions going back for hundreds of years. Offering a program for your guests will allow them to stay informed during the ceremony, and it will also help them understand the meaning and symbolism behind the events transpiring during the ceremony. Wedding programs also make great souvenir for friends and family. The wedding program will be kept to remind the bride and groom of that fateful day in which they were married. Catholic wedding programs tend to be far more ritualistic than your average wedding programs. The following is a short summary of how a normal catholic wedding program would be composed.

The entrance rite is enlisted first which includes the processional, the rite of the bride and the opening prayer. Then comes the liturgy of the word which includes several readings from the bible. Next is the rite of marriage, in which the main parts of the ceremony are conducted and the bride and groom are married. Then finally the concluding rite is enacted in which the closing prayer is said. A good catholic wedding program will let your guests remember the wedding for quite some time to come, because they will want to keep it as a way to remember the wedding.
